SOKENDAI Grant for Interdisciplinary research publication

Objectives

These guidelines specify application requirements for a grant for interdisciplinary research publications funded by the research project budget of the Center for the Promotion of Integrated Sciences (hereinafter called “CPIS”) of SOKENDAI (The Graduate University for Advanced Studies).
The grant is designed to stimulate research and broad dissemination of the results throughout society by encouraging all students and faculties of SOKENDAI who belong to the interdisciplinary research field to submit and publish their papers in academic and scholarly journals issued in Japan and overseas.

Application period

Applications will be accepted from June 1, 2017 to February 28, 2018.
(* Regardless of the above period, the application may be closed when the subsidy amount reaches the limitation on the budget).

Publication support program of CPIS

CPIS subsidizes publication expenses for scholarly journals.

The publication fee for a paper in an academic journal is covered up to 200 thousand Yen. A SOKENDAI student should be the author or one of the authors (the first author or not).

The SOKENDAI student and/or a SOKENDAI faculty, one of the authors, can apply.

In the paper, all authors who are SOKENDAI students or faculty should show their SOKENDAI affiliation.

Special treatment of SOKENDAI graduates: A SOKENDAI graduate is regarded as a student within one year after the graduation, if the work was done in SOKENDAI before the graduation. The affiliation of the graduate should include SOKENDAI.

All authors who are SOKENDAI students or faculty members MUST show their affiliation in SOKENDAI with accurate description. Papers that do not contain the official name “SOKENDAI (The Graduate University for Advanced Studies)” are not accepted.
